Capcom came to New York Comic Con (NYCC) excited to announce some of the upcoming releases from the publishing giant. Among them was the announcement of Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. Jason Leigh of Capcom Vancouver, Executive Producer of Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, started the panel with a trailer for the latest content from the Dead Rising brand. Leigh assured the audience Off the Record is not just a director's cut of the original game, it is a stand-alone gaming experience in its own right.
Gamers of the series will remember the character Frank West. In Off the Record, gamers get to play West who has run on tough times and finds himself stumbling across a conspiracy. This game is not all about conspiracy theories though, there are plenty of the fun and imaginitive ways to take out the zombie hoard players have come to expect and love. Capcom Vancouver has expanded the game design, including a more expansive Fortune City, a Sandbox mode which is also integrated into co-op gameplay. In Sandbox mode, gamers can level up Frank's skills and transition his experience back into Storybook mode.
Capcom is doing its best to reward fans of the Dead Rising franchise, Chuck makes a return. In fact, players will be able to fight against a psychotic Chuck. Capcom will also continue its costume reward, with a Protoman costume for players that play through the entire game. There will also be DLC themed costumes and skills available, beginning 10/25/11, starting with a cyborg costume. In addition to more Dead Rising on consoles, Capcom also announced Dead Rising 2: Off the Record will be re-imagined as a comic as well.
