Earlier today, Humble Bundle, Inc. officially announced they are finally offering deals for gamers on Android devices. The Humble Bundle works with developers to offer games to consumers in a “pay what you want model.” These deals are a fantastic way to present new titles to gamers that may not have found them otherwise and allow consumers to easily support charity.
The Humble Bundle for Android marks the first time the company is making games available on the Android platform. The Bundle pack is DRM-free and will allow consumers to download the games on as many Android, Linux, Mac or Windows devices as they like with a single purchase.
The games in the Humble Bundle for Android include:
Anomoly: Warzone Earth in which players fight against an alien invasion in a tower defense strategy game;
EDGE is a fast-paced platformer puzzle game where players test their skills moving their cube through ever changing landscapes; Osmos has players take on the role of an amoeba-like character that must absorb the surrounding characters to propel itself through the game, all while avoiding obstacles.
As a bonus, consumers that purchase the Humble Bundle for Android for more than the average prices will also get the game World of Goo. Players will put their problem solving skills to the test in this puzzle game that has them use goo balls to create structures to escape challenges.
Consumers will have the opportunity to donate a portion of their purchase price to 2 charities: Child's Play, or the Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF). Child's Play is an organization, founded by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins of Penny Arcade fame, that works to improve the lives of sick children by donating toys and games to hospitals throughout the world. The Electronic Frontier Foundation is an organization to serves to educate the public in issues pertaining to civil rights with regard to new and developing communication technologies, as well as support litigation that acts to protect the rights of users.
There is still plenty of time to cash in on the Humble Bundle for Android deal, but it is only available for a limited time. Head to the Humble Bundle website to learn more and to make your purchase, or buy a bundle for a friend.
