METAL GEAR SOLID 3D demo hitting 3DS eShop on Feb. 16th

First outed during Nintendo's debut of the 3DS hardware back at E3 2010, Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D has been one of the system's most highly anticipated titles yet to be released. And now that we're on the heels of it finally launching next week (what you didn't know?), the game will be receiving the demo treatment thanks to latest update to the eShop.

According to a new press release sent out by Konami, the most critically acclaimed Metal Gear game of all time will be hitting the Nintendo 3DS eShop for free on February 16th. For fans of the series, there's seriously no reason to pass this one up. While MGS4 stunk up the place with its incoherent plot and indecisive gameplay, Snake Eater did the complete opposite in knowing exactly what it wanted to do from the get go -- and that is, be awesome.

Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D releases February 21st in the US, and on March 8th in Japan.
