New PS3 Firmware Sneaks In Dropbox Support To Get Media To Your System
This is unexpected by most, but Sony has added Dropbox support to the PlayStation 3 system. With the recently released firmware v4.10, you can now visit Dropbox's website from your system to download media to your console. Want to get new music to your system? no problem. Want to watch that newly downloaded movie on your system? no problem.
With no worrying about how to properly connect your PS3 to your computer in order to access media, this is a fantastic addition. Personally, I have used the service PlayOn for years to access movies off of my computer, but now this makes things even easier, because I can download the whole movie and not just stream it from the computer.
Go ahead; give it a test. I am sure you will be very pleased with this feature. On top of that, with Dropbox's free 2GB they give you, there's no reason for you not to check this out.
