I don't agree with the term "Hoes" in any context, really. Maybe it has to do with my feminist education and lack of appreciation for demeaning definitions of women. But, I can put that aside when it comes to riffing on video games or pop-culture. Not that my morals are somehow subdued, it is just that I understand that things cannot be taken seriously at every turn.
Barrett Biggers has taken the phrase, "Bros Before Hoes" and applied to the world of Super Mario. The obvious analogy would have to deal with Mario caring about Luigi first and Princess Peach second. That is to say, putting his brother before the love of his life, or something.
Not only has Barrett applied this phrase to Super Mario, he has also created a print around this idea that can be bought as either a poster, an Ipad skin, a hoodie, or a number of other things which he has posted on his site. You can buy any of the products below if you head to Barrett's Society 6 page.
