Take this info with a grain of salt since Xbox Live's Marketplace game pages aren't always 100% reliable, but for a brief time this morning "4 Player Co-Op" and "2-8 player online multiplayer" were listed under the game's XBL filing.
Those details have since been removed but the online multiplayer component still remains listed.
A co-op feature might take things to a whole new level, especially with factions such as the British, Native Americans, and Americans all pointing weapons at each other. Being able to have a team of players behind you at all times as hirable mercernaries could be an interesting gameplay twist.
Just imagine having your co-op buddies set up on rooftops, or hide behind trees and bushes and strategically map yourselves out for the perfect surprise attack on a assassination target. Sounds like something that should've been put in the game years ago!
Do you think co-op is a good fit for the Assassin's Creed series or should it remain primarily a solo experience?
Assassin's Creed 3 releases October 30th for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.
