Warren Spector Confirms: 'No EPIC MICKEY 2 For Wii U'

Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two is set to release for an assortment of consoles in September of this year, but if you were thinking of holding out for a Wii U version then you're going to be sadly disappointed.

Rumors and reports are pointing to a November launch of the much anticipated Nintendo console, but Warren Spector, the game's creative director, has confirmed that Wii U owners will not be getting their own version of the game.

In a recent interview from the May issue of Nintendo Power, Warren Spector had this to say about a possible port over to the Wii U:

“We’ve certainly thought about it. It’s a really interesting piece of hardware. Unfortunately, we were already too far into development by the time it was announced. So there’s just no way we could get it out by the time Wii U launches. I mean, who knows what’s going to happen in the future? But for right now, there are no plans. There is all sorts of fun stuff we could do with that controller, though.”

For some snippets of gameplay you can either check out our post of 10 minutes worth of it or just watch this quick interview with Spector himself below. Whatever you do it's your choice, of course.

Will early support for the Wii U be lacking or do you think it'll be fully stocked with games on launch?
