STAR TREK - Kirk and Spock Enjoy Jumping in This Teaser

I guess I would consider myself a bit of a "Trekkie," but not in the purest sense of the word. I love the series (to a point), but I would never dress up like my favorite character (Data). Star Trek is all about uniting the universe and defeating the ultimate evils, which I can get on-board with.

I thoroughly enjoyed Abrams' re-imagining in 2009, and would love to play a game that took place in his universe, which this title does. A trailer for this untitled Star Trek game was shown at E3 in 2011, but this is the first trailer to hit the web directly. Digital Extremes is working on this title and let's hope that it does just as much justice to the Star Trek name as the film did. No, that was not sarcasm.

There seems to be a heavy Mass Effect influence on the game. From the way that guns are attached to Kirk's back to how the shooting looks to operate. Not that it's a bad thing for games to copy some of the devices of Mass Effect, I just hope it's not derivative.
