GOD OF WAR: ASCENSION - After a Week of Rumors, Sony Announces New Game

Last week, Sony put up a big teaser on their Facebook page about an upcoming game being revealed on the 19th. Many people speculated different games, but for the vast majority everyone assumed it was a new God of War title based on the fonts and colors used.

Well Kratos fans, that is indeed true! Sony has officially announced that the next chapter in the successful franchise will be called God of War: Ascension, and will of course be a PS3 exclusive. You will be able to see a first glimpse of the game on April 30th at 8AM PST, via the God of War: Ascension Facebook page. Todd Papy, the game's director, will be showing off gameplay and answering any questions you have during a live streaming event. Just be sure to sent tweets to @PlayStation using the #GodOfWarAscension hashtag.

But until the much anticipated live event takes place, you can check out the newly released trailer for the game. But after checking out the trailer and noticing some other clues, one has to think that this game is more like a prequel than a sequel in the series. Why you ask? Well take the word "ascension" which usually has to do with one becoming a god. Then take note of the fact that there is no number on this game, i.e. God of War IV. Only time will tell.

Are you ready to bring hell to gods once again?
