SILENT HILL: Revelation 3D Coming to Theaters This Halloween

Remember when the first Silent Hill film came out in 2006? I do. I bought it at Best Buy and watched it with a friend of mine a few years back. After our viewing experience, we picked each others brains to answer some of the questions that were not dealt with at the end of the film because there were a few. I liked the movie alright, though. I would consider it half-good, because there were some great things in it but it was still pretty lame at times. I thought the monsters looked creepy and the story of the girl was interesting, but it fell apart in the end.

The movie made about $100 million dollars worldwide, which is pretty great for a horror film. I guess the studios still see a market for this franchise, but I am unsure if people will care as much this time around. They are calling it Silent Hill: Revelation 3D. So, we get a nice generic subtitle along with the promise of 3D, which I could care less about. But, I'm still pretty intrigued. Everyone's favorite person to kill, Sean Bean, will be in the movie along with Caligula himself, Malcolm McDowell.

Producer, Samuel Hadida, had this to say about the upcoming movie:

The film is a thrill ride that improves on the original in many ways, we take all audiences, new and old, deep into the world of psychological horror that is Silent Hill, and advance the story for those familiar with the franchise. We are thrilled to have Tom and his terrific team at Open Road presenting our film to US audiences.

I was never into the series (the games), even though I am a huge horror-nerd (I prefer Resident Evil, not the movies, though) but it looks promising (I guess) to those who know the games well. I will check this out no matter what because I love me a good horror film and like I said, the first one was watchable.

Who's excited for another Silent Hill film? Yeah, I know you want to see Pyramid-head again.
