Artist Creates Realistic Portraits of Your Favorite Video Game Characters

Artist, Tom Rhodes, has created some wacky art that is both interesting on one level and demented on another. Portraits of Mario and Star Fox look realistic, as if they existed in "our" world. Move on over to the pictures of Lara Croft and Mega Man, and these feel as if they are part of the theater bizarre.

I have to give props to Tom Rhodes for thinking abstractly on a few of pictures. The Pong Paddles got me, and making Sonic and Knuckles actual hedgehogs was pretty clever.

I would like to see more artwork like this, or artwork that painted our heroes in a more realistic fashion. Who you you like to see done in this way?
