METAL GEAR SOLID HD EDITON Gets Touch Controls for PS VITA Release
It's been more than 6 months since the Metal Gear Solid HD collection for PS3 and Xbox 360 was released last winter but the PS Vita is ready to finally get its ported version, touch controls and all.
The Vita version will be released on June 12th in the US but will have a couple of additions and omissions from its original home console version. The portable port will only play host to Metal Gear Solid's 2 and 3, with Peace Walker being taken out of the mix, mostly due to the game being readily available for the Vita as a PSP backwards compatible game. Taking its spot, however, is a download code for the original Metal Gear Solid. Also included in this ultimate, tactical, espionage collection will be the original Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, first seen on the MSX.
Additionally, the handheld port will be fitted with PS Vita touch controls, giving players the option to swipe their fingers across that beautiful OLED screen to select weapons or even change viewing angles. Transfarring, or the act of being able to play your PS3 version of the MGS HD Collection, save your game, and then pick up where you left off on your Vita version, will also be thrown into the package.
Which Metal Gear Solid title is your favorite out of the whole series? And please don't say MGS4!
