Now is the Time to Become a Playstation Plus Subscriber
Every Tuesday, around 5:00 p.m. Pacific time, the Playstation store is updated. Every week new products are added for Playstation Plus members to purchase at a discount and at the start of every month, new, full games can be added to your collection for free. This may not be news to many or any of you but I felt the need to state these details because Sony has rolled out some great features this month to celebrate E3.
I am a bit of a Sony fanboy, not too much, but just enough and I never invested in the Playstation Plus program. The games they put out for free were not spectacular and the discounts on other products were not selling me either. The only other benefit for PS Plus is the Cloud Save mechanic, which is what always made me reconsider why I was not getting this service.
Yesterday, Sony updated the store and PS Plus users can now get 12 games for free for being subscribers. Let me list them for you:
- Little Big Planet 2
- Infamous 2
- Virtua Fighter 5
- Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One
- Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine
- Just Cause 2
- Saints Row 2
- Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light
- Hard Corp: Uprising
- Choplifter HD
- Zombie Apocalypse: Never Die Alone
- Sideway NY
All of the games mentioned above are FREE to Playstation Plus subscribers. There is a catch, though; should you cancel your PS Plus account at any time, those games you got for free from PS Plus will no longer be playable. So, you can't join up for 3 months and keep all those titles, you have to continue being a subscriber. I mean, $50 a year or $17.99 for 3 months is not a bad investment.
I have now signed myself up for an account because I could not pass up these savings. You're getting a lot of entertainment for the price point and I think we should all clap Sony on the back for this one.
Will these 12 free games make you reconsider getting a Playstation Plus account?
