METAL GEAR SOLID: GROUND ZEROES Revealed - Play in the Open World as Big Boss?
More Metal Gear Solid news for you devoted fans! Yesterday, we told you about the new Metal Gear Solid movie that is in the works and being produced by Avi Arad. Well now there is even more news coming from that same 25th Anniversary event.
This time, something we all want to know more about - an unofficial reveal of the next game in the MGS franchise titled 'Metal Gear: Ground Zeroes', from series creator Hideo Kojima. There isn't a whole lot of information at this time. Those who seen it were reportedly asked not to post anything about it but either couldn't contain their excitement or didn't get the memo. From what we can gather, it was impressive stuff.
Twitter user @markmacd went on to say:
"Demo of "Metal Gear Solid Ground Zeroes", started w cutscene (all realtime), went into gameplay, open world, night, raining, base. AMAZING,"
"Snake crawled, avoiding searchlights, killed guard, rode jeep, called in helicopter for evac. Sounds like MG, but the scale & atmosphere... Wow".
While another Twitter user, @Kazamatsuri, said that the game was running on the new FOX engine:
"running on a PC at current-gen specs"
According to Famitsu, it seems that the helicopter was playing Ride of the Valkyries while airlifting the player to safety, (a tune you most likely heard or will forever associate with the helicopter assault scene in Apocalypse Now).
They also have posted the first official look at the artwork for the game.
From the strap of the eye patch and Militaires Sans Frontières logo on his arm, fans are predicting this to be Big Boss. There has been no official information or reveal from Konami yet, but we will certainly keep you posted when details are released to the public.
How do you think an open world Metal Gear Solid game could work?
