Greetings gaming world! We here at GameTyrant are looking to grow. If you think you have the chops to come hang with us, you should apply to be part of the team.

As most of you already know, GameTyrant.co is and up and coming gaming culture website that is a “sister site” of GeekTyrant.com. The GeekTyrant.com website has been around for over 4 years now and has become a staple in the entertainment reporting world. Many of our readers would love the gaming content that was placed on the site, therefore GameTyrant was born to focus more in this field.

Launching in 2011, GameTyant has quickly been working on becoming a high quality source for the entire game community. As you might have noticed from view the posts on this site, we are not just another game site that is posting news or reviews. You can get that from the heavy hitters like IGN, Gamespot, or Kotaku. We are focused on everything outside of that, from video game clothing, hilarious videos, exclusive art, reviews and more. Does this mean we never post breaking news, the latest trailers, or rumors? No. We still do that from time to time, but it’s not the focus of the site.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a few good writers to join the team and become a Tyrant with us. At this time this will be a volunteer job. Looking for people who can write an article or two (or more) daily. Covering news, and other gaming related topics.

Your responsibilities:

You will create exciting and fresh video game articles that will engage users. Interacting and participating as a team player with other staff members will be key to this position. You will collaborate daily with the rest of the team. Look for new ideas for content whether it be in article form or in video. Put your own editorial spin on the latest news in the gaming world. Take risks, and talk about any and everything regarding the industry. Create fun spotlight posts on a new piece of gaming art, clothing or other various gear.

Minimum Requirements:

• Strong writing skills
• Ability to create new and interesting content
• A very deep passion for video games
• Keeps up to date with the latest in the gaming community
• Engaged in social media
• Ability to use video conferencing programs such as Google Hangouts, ooVoo, or Skype
• Some knowledge of HTML as well as how to use Adobe Photoshop (or similar software) is preferred

What would be great:

• Having a video capture device for gameplay videos is a plus
• Ability to do mobile gaming reviews is a plus
• Indie game lover? We want to hear from you!
• Previous experience with podcasts is a huge plus.

We recently attended E3 and San Diego Comic-Con, and will be attending NY Comic-Con this year. You will have full ability to gain access to events of this nature, via media credentials. The possibility to get games for review from major publishers is available with this position, but is not promised.
