KILLER INSTINCT: Microsoft Renews Trademark, Could a New Game Be on Its Way?
Killer Instinct had to be one of my favorite games growing up. As most of you know, it was originally a great arcade game that everyone grew to love. Then it was brought to the Super Nintendo as one of its flagship games, as well as the Nintendo Game Boy. It has long been said that Killer Instinct was one of the best fighting games ever made, and I would have to agree with this. So it’s no question that I became super excited when I heard that Microsoft renewed its trademark for the hit game recently.
Recently on PlayXBLA.com, the company had this to say:
“With all due respect to our friends in the media who like to frequent trademark sites, we thought we’d break this one ourselves.”
“Our legal eagles have authorized us to say: “We have either renewed or refiled a trademark application in various jurisdictions.”
Hmmm, why was this basically leaked on PlayXBLA.com? Could a new Killer Instinct arcade game be in the works for Xbox Live? Or could we see a Killer Instinct 3 game come out for the Xbox 720, codenamed Project Durango? Regardless, there have been many fans who have waiting patiently for a new KI game to come out, and with this news we have hope.
Who was you favorite character from the Killer Instinct franchise? My favorites were Fulgore and Cinder.
