PRINCE OF PERSIA: THE FORGOTTEN SANDS Concept Art Looks Nothing Like the Game
You know, Prince of Persia is such a weird series. It felt as if the 2003 release came out of nowhere, it surprised the hell out of me in terms of its crazy platforming, and then I went on to forget to play the sequels. I did pick up the series again when it was rebooted in 2008 and enjoyed that title more than the first game. The art style, the new approach to combat, and the touching story made me fall in love with the game. But then, they went and made the next Prince of Persia which was sort-of tied into the movie, and I was bored again. Lesson for Ubisoft: Being back Nolan North and cel-shading! Thank you. Sure, they won't bring back the 2008 version because it didn't make money, but I can dream.
These drawings were done by Ulrick and they were concept art for that 2010 game that made me bored. It's a shame that this artwork is better than the final product and that it makes me wish that this aesthetic was used instead of the pseudo-movie one. Very cool, though.
Would you like to see another reboot of Prince of Persia with this tone?
